Tottenham injury news update before Inter Milan clash

Tottenham vs Inter Milan

Tottenham take on Inter Milan on Wednesday evening in a must-win Champions League clash.

After four games in Group B Spurs are 3rd in the table and in danger of not even making it out of their group.

Spurs have so far, won one, drawn one and lost two, giving them just four points.

As for Inter Milan, they are in second place with seven points.

With Tottenham’s remaining game against group leaders Barcelona, a win vs Inter is vital if Spurs want to stand any chance of making it out of their group.

However, even if Spurs beat Inter, they would still only be on level points and would still have to hope Inter lose their last game vs PSV.

While Tottenham’s UCL form has been pretty poor this season, they are enjoying their best start to a Premier League season.

Spurs are currently 3rd in the Premier League and have won four of their last five league games. The latest being a 3-1 hammering of a previously unbeaten Chelsea side.

Spurs injury update

So, Spurs will be hoping their league form can carry over to Wednesday’s game.

However, heading into the Inter game, Tottenham have a fair few injuries to deal with.

Spurs centre-back Davidson Sanchez is making good progress after recovering from a hamstring injury. But is still only training on his own and is unlikely to feature vs Inter.

Kieran Trippier, who suffered a groin injury, is in the final stages of recovery and Victor Wanyama is still recovering.

Juan Foyth is also unavailable for selection vs Inter.

However, Jan Vertonghen made the bench vs Chelsea after returning from injury and will likely start in the youngster’s place on Wednesday.

Danny Rose has also returned to full training ahead of Spurs UCL tie.
