PSG superstar Neymar has today revealed that he has ‘always wanted’ to work with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, amid intensifying speculation surrounding his future at the Parc des Princes.
Following months of speculation, South American attacker Neymar finally made the move from Barcelona to French giants Paris Saint-Germain in August of last year, for a world-record fee of 222 million Euro.
The 26-year-old went on to enjoy a scintillating start to life in the French capital, racking up an incredible 25 goals and 16 assists in his first 27 appearances between Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
However, a broken metatarsal bone in his right foot, picked up during a clash with Marseille in February, has seen Neymar sidelined ever since, derailing what looked set to be a spectacular debut campaign at the Parc des Princes (though he was nevertheless named the Ligue 1 Player of the Year).

On the move?
Despite his brilliance on the pitch this season, though, reports have nevertheless been rife in both France and Spain that the fleet-footed attacker could be set to depart Paris this summer, less than a year after his record-breaking arrival.
The early-season troubles between he and Edinson Cavani were already rumoured to have seen Neymar considering his position with PSG, with the clear lack of progress made by the recently-crowned Ligue 1 champions in the Champions League this season having also reportedly left the Selecao star frustrated.
Despite their fierce rivalry with Neymar’s former club, Barcelona, European champions Real Madrid have been the club most heavily-touted as a potential destination for the Brazilian, with Los Blancos known to be on the lookout for reinforcements in attacking areas.
‘Want to work with him’
However, speaking in an interview with ESPN Brazil earlier today, Neymar revealed a personal wish of his that is no doubt set to kick-off yet another media transfer saga, but not between the former Santos man and Real Madrid.
The Brazilian discussed his admiration for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, whom Neymar missed out on the chance to worth with following the Spaniard’s departure from the Camp Nou a year prior to his arrival.
But it was the PSG superstar’s admission that he has designs on reuniting with Guardiola at some stage in the future that is no doubt set to cause yet another media storm:
‘I have always wanted to work with Guardiola.’
‘It’s different, I arrived [at Barca] after he left. I really want to work with him.’
